2) Exchange and Non-Degree Students
Visiting students to SKKU have the following options for their study in SKKU
1) Academic study only
SKKU currently offers ??? courses in various fields taught in English. If you speak good enough Korea you choose from an even greater variety of courses taught in Korean. If you are missing some courses in the list of courses taught in English, please contact us and we try to arrange with a professor to teach a course in English instead of Korean.
2) Mainly Academic and some Korean language study
Many exchange students studying in Sungkyunkwan study for their major only, but are also interested in learning some of the local language. We encourage you to spend some time on studying Korean as it allows you to experience more of Korean life. Korean language courses are offered in the afternoons and take 9 hour/week.
3) Mainly Korean language and some academic study
For students who are mainly interested in studying Korean language the Sungkyun Language Institute offers full time Korean language classes in six different levels. The course schedule is different to the normal academic schedule of Sungkyunkwan University. You can find SKKU’s academic schedule under the section “Dates” and compare it to the Sungkyun Language Institute schedule. If you wish to take additional academic courses you can do so, but the course must be held in the afternoons as the Korean language course will be held daily from 9am – 1pm.
4) Korean language study only
