International Objectives

In order to continuously elevate its status as a world-class university, SKKU is dedicated to pursuing a variety of international objectives.

SKKU seeks to promote Korean higher education abroad and increase SKKU’s international reputation by constantly establishing connections and forming new partnerships with institutions around the globe. Through this extensive worldwide network, SKKU aims to facilitate more international academic collaboration and exchange, bringing together the world’s best and brightest scholars to develop and pursue innovative research projects. SKKU also makes a great effort to bring more international students and professors to Korea, as well as send more Korean students and professors abroad, to broaden the university’s academic horizons and encourage the growth of progressive global leaders.

Global Networking Policy

SKKU’s global networking policy is to build strategic alliances with prestigious, innovative, and prolific universities to foster greater exchange and aid in the development of knowledge that will benefit humanity worldwide. With this in mind SKKU has targeted universities abroad with a regional approach and formed close collaborative relationships with them.


In Europe, SKKU has developed strategic partnerships with Leiden University in the Netherlands, the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, RWTH Aachen University in Germany, and Trinity College Dublin in Ireland..


In the USA, SKKU has formed a close network with Pennsylvania State University, the University of Minnesota, Indiana University, and the University of British Columbia.


Asian strategic partners include Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Renmin University, Huang Jing University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Jilin University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, Hokkaido, Tohoku, Nagoya University, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Nanyang Technological University.


In Oceania, SKKU has formed close connections with Australian universities that account for 75% of the nation’s research and development expenditure, including University of Sydney, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales, and the University of Western Australia.
