Dr. Satyasheel Sharma Appointed Assistant Prof. at NIPER-Ahmedabed, India

After graduating from the University of Delhi with a Ph.D. in chemistry, Dr. Satyasheel Sharma started working at the School of Pharmacy at SKKU as a research professor. While working at SKKU, he received an offer for a position as an assistant professor at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER).

In general, research institutes require many researchers who are specialized in the field of medicinal chemistry in order to develop potential candidate materials. Dr. Sharma successfully developed various syntheses for pharmaceutically active structures while studying at SKKU. He said he could be appointed as a professor at NIPER-Ahmedabad thanks to his deep knowledge and experience for synthesis of bioactive substances.

"I had a good experience working at SKKU, which is one of the best universities in Korea. SKKU has the best infrastructure, lab facilities, and research environment to perform research activities," said Dr. Sharma, "SKKU is a leading university and is receiving global recognition for scientific research."

In addition to an excellent research environment, Dr. Sharma also expressed his gratitude towards his advising professor, In Su KIM. "It was my pleasure working with Prof. In Su KIM. He is a great mentor and has a high grade of intelligence. Under Prof. KIM's guidance, I was able to broaden my prospects as a researcher," said Dr. Sharma.

He is currently teaching organic chemistry at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at NIPER-Ahmedabad as an assistant professor. As a professor, his main goal is to teach students to have motivation. His research plan is to develop a new method of synthesizing new substances for anticancer drugs and neuroprotection medicine.
