Prof. Luke P. Lee, the world-class scholar in the field of nano-bio convergence technology and a distinguished chair professor of SKKU, shows up in the next Sungdae Myeongnyun Special Lecture. In the 10th special lecture, which will be held on Nov. 25 (Fri) at 10 A.M., Prof. Lee will give a special lecture under the theme of “Nano-Bio-Photonics: Toward Quantum Biological Integrated Circuits (QBICs) for Monitoring Human Health, Natural Environment, and Biosecurity”.

Prof. Lee received a Bachelor’s degree in biophysics and a doctorate in applied physics from UC Berkeley, and is currently a professor at Harvard Medical School and a distinguished chair professor at SKKU. Prof. Lee has gained a reputation as a renowned researcher by developing artificial intelligence compound eyes inspired by nature in 2006, Plasmon Resonance Energy Transfer (PRET) in 2007, and ultra-fast optical PCR biochips in 2015, and is considered a pioneer in developing cutting-edge medical equipment that combines nanotechnology and biotechnology. In 2010, he was awarded the Ho-am prize in recognition of his achievements. In 2018, he was appointed as the director of the Institute of Quantum Biophysics (IQB), which was established by SKKU to lead the field of quantum life science, and the fields are nano-biotechnology and precision medical application research.

Prof. Lee said, “This lecture will discuss the destruction of nature and ecosystems that we can wisely cope with, how we can prevent pandemic crises caused by them, and the wisdom to creatively overcome them.”

This lecture will be held in Natural Sciences Campus Live Virtual Studio online (Real Time Streaming).
