Prof. Hee Chang Chung (Department of Korean Language and Literature) research team conducts a project to revise the standard Korean language university dictionary
-Addition and deletion of headwords to modernize and meet trends of today

Prof. Hee Chang Jeong of the Department of Korean Language and Literature will carry out the "2023 Standard Korean Language University Revision" project of the National Institute of Korean Language, an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, following last year. The aim of this research project is to reorganize the Korean language system to reflect the changes in contemporary society, its broader effort is to entirely renovate the "Standard Korean Dictionary" of the National Institute of Korean Language.
Accordingly, Prof. Jeong's research team conducts research such as reorganizing the contents of the national dictionary, "Standard Korean Dictionary," adding and deleting headwords, and updating them to reflect the current times.
The purpose of this project is to systematize and upgrade the Korean dictionary, which is the starting point of language knowledge information, and this is the foundation of the K-language culture that is gathering attention from people all around the world. Also, this effort aims to solve the language communication problems in today’s industrial society which supports the important initiative of Korean Language and Literature BK Division.
