Sungkyunkwan University-Korea Military Academy, the Second Friendship Sports Exchange Event Held

Our university and the Korea Military Academy held the Second Friendship Sports Exchange Event on May 17th (Wed) at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus' grass field and basketball court to promote student exchange between the two institutions.

During this event, soccer and baseball games were played, and various student exchange activities between our university students and military officer candidates took place.

Our university and the Korea Military Academy signed an exchange agreement in 2021 to foster advanced leader talents, and as part of student exchange, they have been organizing friendly sports exchange events since the fall of 2022.

On this day, the exchange event began with a welcome speech by President Jibeom Yoo and a congratulatory speech by Korea Military Academy’s Cadet Commander Ki-joong Yoon, followed by a performance by the Kingo Cheerleading Squad, a soccer match, and a baseball game. In terms of the game results, soccer ended in a 3-3 draw, while Sungkyunkwan University won the baseball game with a score of 6-8.

President Jibeom Yoo expressed his delight in the welcome speech, saying, "I am pleased to be able to hold this sports exchange event with future talents who will lead our country, on such a beautiful day." He added, "Beyond the sports and victory, I hope that the students of Sungkyunkwan University and the military officer candidates can freely express their passion, enthusiasm, and youth."
