“Sungkyunkwan University Shines Brightly with the Love of Our Donors"

-Hosting the 2024 Major Donors Appreciation Dinner, "Love in Gratitude"

Sungkyunkwan University hosted its 2024 Major Donors Appreciation Dinner on Monday, December 9, at the Ruby Hall of the Shilla Hotel Guest House.

The event was attended by over 70 key donors, including Chairman Duk-Hee Ryu (Honorary Chairman of Kyungdong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), Chairman Yong-Taek Yoon (Centurion Holdings Co., Ltd.), Chairman Choong-Koo Lee (UNIX Co., Ltd.), Chairman Gyu-Yong Lee (Nazain Co., Ltd.), and Chairman Kyu-Hak Cho (Han Sung Chemical Co., Ltd.). Joining them were Jaewan Park, Chairman of the SKKU Board of Trustees; Ji-Beom Yoo, President of SKKU; and Dongok Cha, Vice President of the SKKU Alumni Association.

In his congratulatory address, President Ji-Beom Yoo expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating, "Despite the challenging economic climate, the generous support and love of our donors have enabled the university to achieve remarkable milestones this year. The driving force behind our university's progress is your invaluable contributions."

Vice President Dongok Cha added, "Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our donors, our alma mater is advancing day by day. You serve as outstanding role models and inspirations for future generations. I wish you all a New Year filled with blessings and success."

The evening included special additions to the program to express the university's gratitude. These included a lecture by Vice President Jae-Boong Choi (Natural Sciences Campus) and Director of the 1398TF Task Force, titled "The Spirit and Significance of 1398," as well as a commemorative video honoring the donors, produced by students from the Department of Film and the university’s official student ambassadors, S-ANGEL.

The atmosphere was further enlivened by toasts from Chairman Jaewan Park, Chairman Duk-Hee Ryu, Chairman Kyu-Hak Cho, Chairman Gap-Son Ga (Metro Family Co., Ltd.), Chairman Sang-Hoon Shin (President of the Women’s Korean Basketball League), and Chairman Chun-Soon Park (President of the Korean Association of Private Art Museums).

The "Love in Gratitude" Dinner is held annually on the second Monday of December to honor the unwavering generosity and love of Sungkyunkwan University's key donors.
