Celebrating the 627th Anniversary of SKKU’s Founding at the Newly Renovated Millennium Hall

On Wednesday, September 24, Sungkyunkwan University held a commemorative ceremony at the newly renovated Millennium Hall on the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus to celebrate the 627th anniversary of its founding.

During the ceremony, President Ji-beom Yoo expressed his gratitude to all members of the SKKU community—faculty, staff, students, and alumni—for their dedication to achieving the university’s vision of “Bold Challenges for Humanity and the Future Society.”
This year’s anniversary event served as a meaningful occasion for unity and celebration, bringing together the SKKU family in the newly transformed New Millennium Hall.

The program included the presentation of the Teaching Award, President’s List Award, Administrative Innovation Incentive & Founding Anniversary Service Award, and Long-Term Service Awards. In addition, the SKKU Choir gave a memorable performance, followed by a communal singing of the university anthem.

Marking its first major event at the newly renovated New Millennium Hall, the ceremony welcomed not only faculty, staff, and students but also parents, creating a truly inclusive and festive atmosphere. Many participants captured the occasion in commemorative photos, concluding the celebration with a strong sense of pride and community.
