Sungkyunkwan University Demonstrates Global Top 50 Research Competitiveness
– Outstanding performance in both THE Convergence Science Rankings and Shanghai Rankings

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) has once again proven its global research competitiveness, with several major academic fields ranking within the world’s Top 50 in the recently released THE Convergence Science Rankings and Shanghai Ranking. These achievements reflect the success of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance research infrastructure, build an interdisciplinary research environment, and strengthen global collaboration.
In the Convergence Science category announced by Times Higher Education (THE), SKKU ranked 43rd globally, reaffirming the international standing of its convergence-based research capabilities. This result reflects the university’s active support for multidisciplinary collaboration and its strategic focus on fostering convergent talent.

In the Shanghai Ranking, SKKU also demonstrated strong competitiveness across several key future-oriented disciplines, securing global Top 50 positions in: ▲Nanoscience & Nanotechnology – 19th ▲Biomedical Engineering – 30th▲Materials Science & Engineering – 34th ▲Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences – 43rd ▲Robotics – 47th. Particularly in national strategic technology fields such as nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, and materials engineering, SKKU continues to maintain high rankings, gaining international recognition for its integrated strengths across basic, applied, and convergence research.
