2026 President’s List New Year Gathering Held
– Expanding the Value of Student Success through
Sharing Achievements and Networking

The Student Success Center (Director: Professor Joon-sang Lee) held the 2026 President’s List New Year Gathering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16th, at Room 90110 of the International Hall and the Faculty Dining Hall of the 600th Anniversary Memorial Hall.
This New Year gathering was organized to mark the beginning of the Byeong-o Year (Year of the Fire Horse), bringing together President’s List students to share achievements from the past year and reaffirm their commitment to a new start as role models of student success. A total of 58 participants, including students from the 1st to the 7th cohorts of the President’s List and staff members of the Student Success Center, attended the event, adding to its significance.
The President’s List (PL) is a program that identifies and recognizes diverse cases of student success that embody the University’s founding philosophy of Su-gi Chi-in (self-cultivation and governance of others). To date, a total of 215 students have been selected across the 1st through 7th cohorts. Students selected as PL recipients not only strive continuously for their own personal growth, but also serve as role models of student success who exert a positive influence on their peers.
The event began with congratulatory remarks by Professor Joon-sang Lee, Director of the Student Success Center, followed by a program designed to recognize and encourage the efforts and achievements of PL students who have contributed to spreading the value of student success through participation in various on-campus initiatives, including senior student success mentoring, special lectures on student success stories, and the PLus Book program. The event continued with an exchange session in which PL students from the 1st to the 7th cohorts shared their achievements and experiences in academics, research, and professional fields.
The Student Success Center noted that this New Year gathering went beyond a simple social event, serving as an opportunity for PL students to collectively reflect on their experiences and achievements in contributing to the development of the Sungkyun academic community, while reaffirming their responsibilities and roles as role models of student success. The Center plans to continue developing and operating a variety of programs and initiatives centered on the President’s List to further expand the value of student success.
