SKKU signs MoU with the Electric Chemical Energy System Research Lab in Bulgaria 2019.02.18

From February 11th to 15th,members of SKKU Research & Business Foundation visited Bulgaria to sign a MoU with the Bulgarian National Science Institute IEES-BAS for a joint research on the energy system and nano technology.

Two parties have agreed to promote cooperation in the field of chemical engineering, electronic chemistry, nano technology, New Materials Engineering, energy system, energy storage system, etc., for the next 5 years.

Two parties will host a joint research workshop and conference in the future to promote EU joint research program “Horizon2020” and Erasmus + program. Bulgarian institute will secure resources from National Research innovation fund, EU research fund, NATO financial support, multinational corporation research & business fund, while SKKU will secure funds from the research fund and BK+, LINC research fund.

Director Yebelina SLAVCHEVA expressed his expectation saying, “Two institution’s research on the energy system show 80% of similarity”. Anastas GERDZHIKOV, President of Sofia University said, “We will prepare a schedule for our joint research in the medicinal chemistry.”

Prof. Jibeom YOO (President of Korea Nano Technology Research Society) said, “This will be a good opportunity for SKKU and Sofia University to promote practical cooperation in each fields.” Prof. Younggwan LEE (Dept. of Chemical Engineering) said, ”We will create a synergy while working with the Bulgarian Research institute.“ Prof. Beeho JEON said, “Beginning with this agreement, we will be promoting joint research and cooperation with many research institutions and universities in Europe.”
