Prof. Eui-Kyung LEE (Dept. of Medicine, SKKU) was appointed as the new minster of Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on March 8th.
Professor LEE was born in Seoul and she finished her undergraduate and graduate program at Seoul National University. Then she went to University of Iowa in the United States to finish her doctor’s degree. She took the position of research director at Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs and became a professor at Sookmyung Women’s University in 2006. Prof LEE moved to SKKU in 2012.
The Blue House has announced, “LEE is an expert in the field of food safety with experience in research institutions and universities. We have appointed LEE as the new minister with confidence that she will improve the environment of medicine and medical supplies.”
