Prof. Jae Kook LEE, Professor of Media communication department was the Top Paper Panel at the National Communication Association (NCA) Annual Conference held in Baltimore, USA on November 17 (Sun).

Professor Jae Kook Lee studied how in-group conversations that are getting serious in modern society, namely, Facebook, which is criticized as the main cause of the problems between people, and how they can contact and communicate with various people on social media.
Research on Facebook has shown that especially in social media, where conversations are frequent and in-depth, the diversity of strong ties plays an important role.
The paper is a collaboration between Professor Jae Kook and Professor Yanqin Lu of Bowling Green State University. Professor Jae Kook was Professor Lu’s academic advisor while he stayed in the University of Indiana.
Having held its 105th annual conference this year, NCA is one of the oldest conferences in communication.
