SKKU – LG Electronics, Established a Program to Foster AI-Smart Factory Talents for Employees

SKKU announced that they completed the ‘Fostering AI Leader Course’ that was conducted for 6 weeks from October 20 to November 30. The Fostering AI Leader Course is a convergence AI curriculum for 20 employees of LG Electronics that conducts AI and Smart Factory theory learning, practice, and project tasks.


Following a month of online pre-learning, this course consists of a program that conducts machine learning, deep learning, and smart factory theory classes for a total of three weeks, each with one week, and then carries out a three-week project task based on current business issues. Upon completion of the entire course, “Kingo Degree-AI”, a Micro Degree certified by the school, will be awarded in the form of a digital learning badge, allowing graduates to be recognized online and offline for their expertise in AI and smart factory fields.

The ‘FosteringAI Leader Program’ which began in 2019, completed a total of three courses. Dong-RyeolShin, president of SKKU, said, “By establishing a stable six-week full-time AI educationalprogram, our university has proven its ability to operate corporate educationalprogram, and LG Electronics has confirmed its strong commitment to Digital Transformationinternally and externally.”

 

Inparticular, it is also a great accomplishment that the operation of the coursehas allowed us to revisit the possibility of staff training in the era ofCOVID-19. In addition to increasing the proportion of online pre-learning, theprevention rules were thoroughly followed during the collective educationperiod, and the standards for offline education were established througheducation operations that put prevention first, such as taking additionalmeasures to reduce the number of classroom users to 20-30% of the accommodativepopulation after upgrading the social distancing level.
