Prof. Choon-Gon Jang (School of Pharmacy), Inaugurated as the 26thPresident of the Korean Society of Applied Pharmacology
Prof. Choon-Gon Jang became the 26th president of the Korean Society of Applied Pharmacology(KSAP) and he will be leading the KSAP from January to December 2021.
The KSAP, established in 1922, aims to “contribute to fostering new drug developments in Korea and strives to create global new drugs through cooperation between industry and academic.
Prof. Jang, as the president of KSAP, plans to further develop the academic journal, ‘Biomolecules & Therapeutics’, which is 30% of JCR ranking in drug science with an impact factor of 3.74 in 2019. He also plans to maximize research on new drug development by holding spring and autumn academic conferences, establish new drug development research infrastructure in Korea through educational programs, and promote information exchange on new drug development research.
Prof. Jang has been conducting research on the nervous system and drug addiction, and his research work was selected as the outstanding achievement in the life and marine fields in the 「The National R&D Excellence Top 100 in 2020」announced by Ministry of Science and ICT and Korean Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning last year.
