SKKU Ranked No. 1 in the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI)

in Private Universities for 16 Consecutive Years

SKKU has been ranked No. 1 in the private university sector for 16 consecutive years in the 2022 National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) survey selected and announced by the Korea Productivity Center.

NSCI is a customer satisfaction measurement index developed by the Korea Productivity Center with the University of Michigan in the United States to improve the quality of life of the people. NSCI is recognized for its representation and reliability as consumers directly measure, quantify, and evaluate the level of satisfaction with products and services.

SKKU was ranked No. 1 in the NCSI private university sector in that SKKU prepared various customized education programs such as bachelor’s and extracurricular programs for students who have difficulties adjusting to college life, improved educational facilities, created a vibrant campus, and made efforts to normalize college life early after COVID-19.

○ Environmental Improvement Remodeling of Old Space

Reading rooms for each building, graduate student lounge, student lounge in the Student Center, global lounge in the International Hall, and PBL (Problem-based Learning) classrooms are remodeled to support students in a variety of offline face-to-face exchanges and collaborative activities in a pleasant environment.

○ Promote Pride by Providing a Venue for Grandiose Congratulations on Achievements

In addition, through various year-end award ceremonies such as Student Success Creative Scholarship, President’s List, Sungkyunkwan Family Award, and Best Teacher Award, it is working as a solid guide to strengthening the capabilities of all SKKU family members, including students, who are the most important consumers of the university, and faculty who are the providers.

○ Maximizing a Sense of Belonging by Implementing Various Participation Programs

In order to smoothly adapt to college life and create a new culture for freshmen, ‘Shin-bang-rye (Welcoming ceremony for Confucian scholars in Joseon Dynasty, March 2022) and ‘Ko-ha-no-ra (Modern reinterpretation of appeal to the king, Gwanghwamun in October 2022)’ were implemented. International students of various nationalities also participated and improved their sense of belonging.

In addition, ‘ESKARA 22, Green Wave’, a celebration of SKKU’s founding to create student culture, was held at the end of September and was evaluated that it has made a leap forward in student culture through the 1398 cheering festival, inter-campus sports competition, and student joint declaration.

○ Create a Campus Foundation that Meets the Trend of the Times

SKKU is keeping pace with social changes such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and ESG management. The Quantum Information Contest was held with the Ministry of Science and ICT to develop new research keywords such as machine learning, and SKKU is operating the first supercomputing center.

In addition, in order to strengthen the students’ global capabilities, renowned overseas scholars such as Prof. Bid Weil (Brown University) and Prof. Michael Tomasello (Duke University) were appointed as distinguished chair professors and invited to hold 2 ‘SKKU International Conferences’.

○ A Medium of Experience to be Reborn as a Future Talent

In order to foster students’ personalities and strengthen their sense of challenge, the New Year’s
Coal briquette sharing event, rural volunteer activities during the summer vacation, and a national trek in Jeju Island are being held. Through this, it provided a wide range of experiences to establish itself as a member of a community encompassing regions, classes, and generations and grow as a leader in society.

○ Results of Improvement Activities Demonstrated by Various Numerical Results

SKKU was selected as the third-stage industry-academia-research cooperation leading university (LINC 3.0) and received the support of KRW 5.5 billion each year, a total of KRW 33 billion for 6 years, accelerating the development of leading talents in technological innovation. In addition, in the undergraduate student satisfaction survey conducted by the university itself, the results of CS improvement activities were also proved by numbers, recording 5.13 points (on a 7-point scale), an increase of 0.22 points from the previous year.
