Sungkyunkwan University’s Library announced on October 23rd that it has established a memorandum of understanding with “MINDs Lab”, which is a company that specializes in AI technology. The main point of this agreement is the opening of “AI X Bookathon”, an AI based writing contest.
The university will apply MINDs Lab’s AI sentence producing technology and hold the first AI writing contest in November. The “AI X Bookathon” is a compound term of book and hackathon and it is a contest where developers come into teams to extract ideas on AI writings.
The Director of the library said, “Considering that AI and computer software is an important area in the digital era, it is meaningful that the university is trying to launch a AI writing contest for the first time in Korea.”
SKKU opened the AI graduate school in September and is currently running a program to train experts in AI.
