Prof. Han Min Woo Received the Korea Bio Association President’s Award
in the Best Researcher Category in Bio-Health R&D from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy
Prof. Han Min Woo (Department of Food Science and Biotechnology) won the Korea Bio Association President’s Award in the Bio-Health R&D Outstanding Researcher category in recognition of his contribution to the development of the bio-industry at the ‘2022 Bio-Entrepreneur Day’ event held on December 7.
Prof. Woo was recognized for his research achievements in developing the source technology of an automation platform based on gene editing technology for manufacturing industrial microorganisms for the industrialization of synthetic biology and the high value-added bio industry.
Prof. Woo said, “Since I have secured the original bio-foundry technology for synthetic biology, I will work hard to industrialize sustainable functional biomaterials by collaborating with domestic industries.”
Meanwhile, about 100 people related to the bio-industry attended the event, including Dongil Park (Director of manufacturing industry policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), Hansung Ko (President of the Korea Bioepis Association, Samsung Bioepis President and CEO), and Yoonjong Jeon (Director of the Industrial Technology Evaluation and Management Institute).
