College of Computing Student, Tae-Geun Moon (Supervisor. Hyoung-Sik Kim), Won First Prize in a Cyber Security Essay Contest 



A M.A. student (Supervisor. Hyoung-Sik) Kim from the SKKU Security Lab, a part of the College of Computing, won the first prize in a Cyber Security Essay Contest.


In the paper, Moon developed and analyzed a technology to prevent subchannel attacks using the characteristics of web pages being compressed, and proved that the technology has improved performance compared to existing solution. Thus, his paper was highly evaluated and selected as the first prize.


The Cyber Security Essay Contest was organized by the Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology and the International Political Science Association, was supported by the National Intelligence Service and National Security Research Institute. It was divided into two fields; technology and policy. In the contest, undergraduates, graduates, and post-docs participated.
