On February 27th, the matriculation ceremony for the academic year 2013 was held at Sungkyunkwan University's (SKKU) Natural Sciences Campus. 33 Members of the Academic Board, including President Jun Young Kim, performed the traditional matriculation rite to acknowledge the admission of 4,000 new students.
At the ceremony, hand-written letters and books were delivered to 2,000 freshmen through a session called 'A Book with a Parents' Letter.' Along with the session, students flew 'Paper Airplanes of Hope' which contained their hopes and future goals while Ji-young Kang, a member of famous girl pop group Kara and a freshman of the Theatre major, presided over the event.
Meanwhile, Students foreign representatives Paris (the college of Engineering, from the United Arab Emirates) and Fransewa (the school of Social Sciences, from the Republic of the Congo) along with 2 Korean students from both campuses read the 'Student Representatives Oath' in English.
