Se-jin Kim, 15, a triple crown winner in men's 50m butterfly, men's 150m freestyle, and men's 200m individual medley at the 2009 London International Disability Swimming Championships, was honorably admitted as the youngest student in the university's history to the college of Sport Science at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU).
Kim does not have legs below his right knee and his left ankle, and has only a thumb and ring finger on his right hand due to 'congenital aplastic disability.' Standing 180cm tall, and weighing 62kg, He is not only outstanding in sports ability, but also in academic ability. He studied alone and passed both middle and high school equivalency tests in about a year.
As his first semester at SKKU approaches, Kim now has several goals. His first goal is to win a medal in the men's 400m freestyle at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro (for reference, he owns the record of 5 minutes 20 seconds and the world record of this category is 4 minutes 30 seconds); His second goal is to become a sport marketer or a sport psychologist; ultimately, he wishes to become a member of the International Olympic Committee.
