SUNGKYUNKWAN UNIVERSITY (SKKU), SEOUL, KOREA

Times Higher Education (THE) presented their Asian university rankings for 2016 on June 20^th. Among Korean universities, Sunkyunkwan University (SKKU) became the Times Higher Education (THE) top-ranked private comprehensive university in South Korea for the second consecutive year. THE is an organization that assesses universities throughout the world. They evaluate university rankings based on quantitative and qualitative research performance, study environment, and internationalization. SKKU was ranked first among domestic private comprehensive universities by THE World University Rankings in October of last year. This year, Sungkyunkwan once again became the top ranked domestic private comprehensive university according to THE Asian University Rankings. Kyoto University, Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Science and Technology of China's THE scores are also close to Sunkyunkwan University ranking.
