Students of the Department of Global Economics participated in the SKKU-Tufts University Joint Undergraduate Economic Research Conference held at Tufts University in the U.S. The joint undergraduate economics research conference of the Department of Global Economics was started in 2010 with the University of Birmingham in the U.K. and has been held at Indiana University in the U.S (2012), Hong Kong Science and Technology University (2013), the Kiel University in Germany (2014), Erasmus University in the Netherlands (2015), and the University of Southern California in the U.S. This is the 7th conference with Tufts University.

At the conference, fifteen undergraduate students in the Department of Global Economics did presentations with five themes. From Tufts University, undergraduate students and graduate students made presentations on five themes. In addition, students from both sides had active discussions on each other's presentations.

These are the five presentation themes:

  • Globalization and Income Inequality: Implications about Recent Trends
  • Empirical Analysis on Schooling: How Trade Affects Child Labor
  • Asset Pricing with Heterogeneous Belief and its Implications
  • Structural Transformation Pattern in Korea: Industry-level Data Analysis
  • Optimal Leniency Program: A Study on the Fine Reduction Rate for the Second-In Cooperator

After the conference, students had time to explore the prestigious universities of the eastern United States like Princeton University, Yale University, Harvard University, MIT, and so on.
