Dr. Carel Stolker, the Rector of Leiden University in the Netherlands visited SKKU on April 27th (Thurs) to have a meeting with President Chung and SKKU representatives including Prof. SONG Sungjin (Vice-President, Planning and Regulation Division), Prof. KIM Donguk (Vice-President, Academic Affairs Division), Prof. KOO Jachoon (Vice-President, Office of International Affairs), Prof. LEE Kyungsoo (Dean, School of Medicine), Prof. Patricia Goedde (Law School), and Prof. Boudewijn Walraven (Academy of East Asian Studies).

At the meeting, the attendees had a discussion about expanding the boundaries of their exchange activities from legal studies, physics, and Asian studies to biomedical and biotechnology. They also agreed to hold the 2nd SKKU-Leiden Forum in October of this year. Furthermore, they shared their development plans and strategies for student exchange. Bilateral ties between the two universities are expected to strengthen as a result of the meeting.

Founded in 1575, Leiden University is the oldest public university in the Netherlands and one of the Europe's leading international research institutions. The school has an outstanding reputation due to its proficiencies in the fields of archeology, medicine, and legal studies. It is also the only university in Netherlands that has a Korean studies and literature department.
