647 International Students Newly Entered
SKKU in Fall 2017
SKKU has met 647 international students as freshmen in the 2017 fall semester. There are currently 3,270 international students attending SKKU in undergraduate and graduate school. We would like to introduce some of our international freshman students.
Kozlova Anastasiia, Russia, Natural Science, BA
I got to know Korea because of the Korean Wave known as "Hallyu." I became more and more interested in Korea while listening to Korean music and watching Korean dramas. After traveling to Korea 3 times, I finally decided to study in Korea. I want to study Food Science and Biotechnology and after graduation I want to have a job in Korea to gain some experience in a Korean working environment. If there is a chance for further study, I also would like to attend graduate school at SKKU.
Ispan Melinda, Hungary, Department of Journalism and Mass Media Communication, MA
I am very impressed that Korea has a long history and in such a short time it has developed a lot. I really like how its modernity and also the traditional values coexist and how people change through globalization. After I graduate, I want to work somewhere between the two countries in a cultural field or other relations as a journalist.
Faraz Muhammad, Pakistan, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ph.D.
I was a lecturer at a university in Pakistan. To develop my studies in the Electrical & Computer Engineering field, I decided to come to study at SKKU. SKKU is ranked as one of the top 100 universities worldwide. I was also deeply touched that SKKU showed a lot of concerns to me the first time I contacted them. Here now, the research environment, colleagues, everything is fine. Also, I am Muslim, and I am satisfied with the facilities provided by SKKU, such as a kitchen for Halal food and a prayer room.
