This event is designed to have students walk 2,600 km over 4 years and aims to provide opportunities them with the opportunity to experience the New Silk Road. The goal is to cultivate broad minds and to have an introspective time by walking the road in China, while learning about Chinese culture, history, and life.

26 students and 13 faculty and staff members participated in the event. They walked from Lanzhou to Jiayuguang the second phase of the project.

Students who participated in the event said, "Even though it was a very tough schedule that included sleeping on a train, hiking mountains and walking by the river in freezing weather conditions, we could learn about the history of China and the leadership and patriotic spirits of great men in Chinese history."
