In January 2018 SKKU was ranked 1st among the nation's top 17 universities in "2017 Graduate Employment Status" announced by Higher Education in Korea (website hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education).
The average employment rate of all universities was 67.7% and the average employment rate of the top 17 universities was 67.3%. Among them, SKKU recorded a 76.4% employment rate, followed by Korea University with 73.8%, Hanyang University with 72.7%, Seoul National University with 70.6%, and Yonsei University with 70.1%. In particular, SKKU went up 1.6% from last year's 74.8%, in the face of the growing unemployment rate. In addition, it continued to show strong performance by sticking to the number one position among Korea's top universities for three consecutive years from 2015.
By field, more than 90% of Chinese language and literature, 86.9% of electronics and electrical engineering, and 83.4% of business administration graduates from Korean universities were employed.
The newly announced "2017 Graduate Employment Status" was made from data collected December 31, 2016, and the figure is based on the percentage of graduates, except those not included in the employment rate calculation.
