The 1st semester Global Capstone Design Team (Advisory Professors: Gwansoo HAN, Sangdo NOH) received 1st prize for the industrial design and 2nd for the road test competitions in the PUMA Project at the 2018 PACE Annual Forum.
The PACE Forum is a global academic-industrial cooperation program run through the joint operation of GM, Autodesk, HP, Oracle, and Siemens. This year, the forum celebrated its 20th anniversary. It was held from July 22nd to 25th at GM Warren Technical Center in Detroit, USA, and teams from 65 universities in 10 different countries participated in the competition.
Prof. Noh (Dept. of System Management Engineering) was recognized for his great performance and leadership of the project by being given the "Distinguished Integrator Award", which was given to only one outstanding professor among 65 faculty members.
With support from the LINC+ Business Unit, 20 students majoring in subjects such as Systems Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and Software participated in the event. Over the course of one year, they organized a team with various universities including New Mexico State University, Iberoamericana, ITESM, University of Puerto Rico, UPRM, Kookmin University, and Inha Unversity.
SKKU student Dong-gun LEE (Dept. of System Management Engineering), who participated in the project said, "I will seek a higher degree of completion for the project through the 'Advanced Convergence Capstone Design' educational program and participate in other international competitions."
