SKKU's Global Business Administration Department held the 2019 Winter Global Camp in the USA during the period from January 6th to 14th. This year's global camp was led by Prof. Sue Ohk SHIM (previous CMO of Samsung Electronics) and 3 professors of marketing. Twenty-two students joined the camp.
The Global Business Administration Department hosts the global camp program each year to offer students a hands-on experience. Students have visited numerous nations in the past to develop strengths and capabilities to compete in the global market.
In the "2019 Global Camp: USA", students went to Las Vegas to visit the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and global IT companies in Silicon Valley.
Students submitted a research plan on the topic that was given prior to the camp. Students were divided into teams to participate in different lecture sessions for their research. They also visited different company booths to earn information for their projects.
The Consumer Electronics Show is an event where over 4,500 global companies gather and exhibit new technologies and future trends in the electronics industry. The show was used as a venue for students to study and prepare for their semester-long project.
Students also had a chance to visit major companies in Silicon Valley such as Google, Facebook, Samsung, etc., to experience what it's like to work in these companies and have a discussion session with their employees. One of the participants of this program said, "The camp was a valuable experience for me to learn about achieving my dream and to think deeper about my future career path."
