SKKU SWG (managing director Kyung-Taek Yum) held the completion ceremony for the "Smart Water Grid Pilot Project", part of the localization project for smart water management technology, at Haduwaco in Vietnam's Hai Duong Province on December 9, 2019. The project has been supported by Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI) since 2016.
The project will facilitate water management in Vietnam by providing technologies such as the management of the supply and demand of water using advanced metering infrastructure data, real-time and remote-reading of water meters, and a mutual way for exchanging of information about water quality or any problems regarding the provision of water.
SWG has developed the world's first water management method using IoT and AMI big data analysis as well as real-time water leaking supervision and a consumer-participatory platform on a smartphone application. It has also been working on helping the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the country classified as the world's second in terms of water scarcity by the World Economic Forum, to eradicate water shortages.
