Dong Ryeol SHIN, the president of Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) visited four major universities in Singapore to discuss the plan to widen the cooperation between universities from November 4 to November 6, 2019.
In the meeting with the National University of Singapore (NUS) on November 4, both universities shared international cooperation models such as Yale-NUS College and Duke-NUS College as well as models for supporting startups such as NUS Overseas College, NUS Block 71, and the NUS Graduate Research Innovation Program (GRIP), and discussed the opportunities for lab internships at SKKU for the students who are in the International Summer Semester (ISS).
In the afternoon of November 4th, the president also visited Singapore Management University (SMU) to share experience in multidisciplinary research at SMU and the standards and applications of core curricula (capabilities, communities, civilizations).
On November 5th, at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) they discussed STEP, the joint program and global internship program designed to cultivate abilities that match global standards, and the Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP), a program for students in doctoral programs.
Last but not least, the president visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on November 6th. They shared their experiences with teacher training colleges, the National Institute of Education, and the Renaissance Engineering Programme.
