College of Information and Communication Engineering's IoT Club called "Kingo Smart Things" (Supervisor, Prof. Yong-Seok Kim) participated in the 2020 IoT Solution Contest (AIoT Developer InnoWorks) held by Advantech and won a prize on July 31st.
Kingo Smart Things was founded last September under the supervision of Prof. Yong-seok Kim (Chief of the IoT Business Support Center) and this is their second time receiving an award.
Advantech, which is a company specializing in industrial embedded computers, held the contest to provide university students with opportunities to develop and implement IoT through WISE-Paas, an advanced IoT platform service, and to find and support much needed talents in the IoT era.
Six students formed a team called "RIB (Ring my bell)". The main idea of their project was "How nice would it be to reduce the mother's anxiety?" and developed a homecare service for mothers, aiming for mothers and doctors. Its purpose is to record and analyze fetal heart rates and motions measured in mothers so that they can easily check a fetus' health and share it with the doctor, and it was evaluated to be practically applicable in the healthcare field.
The team leader of RMB, Jonggeun Kim said, "I was satisfied with the results because I did my best when participating in the contest and learned a lot."
