Working in OISS as a Student Intern

I am from Yantai, China. I'm currently a senior at Sungkyunkwan University majoring in management. at Sungkyunkwan University. The Office of International Student Service is a department that handles any matters related to international students, including helping students who are having difficulties in studying or real-life struggles. As a foreign student, I was also well aware of the situation, where there would be many difficulties in studying and living in Korea, so I decided to take a role as an intern at the Office of International Student Service, hoping I could help the others in need.

I started the job at the Department of Foreign Students Support at the time of the outbreak of Covid-19. It was a challenge for me but I also learned a lot from the unusual situation. The International Student Service Center has developed a long-range video interview system in order to reflect on international students' dream of studying abroad but those who do not have a TOPIK result due to the global epidemic in 2020. Even though they cannot physically come to school, the new interview system has made it possible for students to complete the admission tests in comfortable settings.

Fortunately, the developed system and excellent administration of Sungkyunkwan University have enabled students to get closer to their dreams while studying abroad. The Department of International Student Service at Sungkyunkwan University has constantly worked to offer excellent services to international students, has responded actively, even in a special situation, has made innovative efforts to adapt the changed situation, and even led the way.

The year of 2020 is a turning point in human history, and thanks to all the hard work the Department of Foreign Students Support at Sungkyunkwan University has put in. I believe that we can make the world a better place by actively changing and innovating at such an unusual time rather than blaming the others.
