- A great leap forward in terms of learning management, lecture recording/writing, and content management
- Expected to create an educational environment where students actively learn and discuss, and to support communication between professors and students
- Present a standard model for university online learning in the midst of a pandemic situation
SKKU announced that it has completed the establishment of a next generation global learning management system (LMS) for self-directed learning on July 22 (Wed). An LMS is a system that integrates and manages students' grades, progress, and online attendance.
Since 2003, SKKU has been supporting efficient studies through an online learning management system called "i-Campus". The next generation global learning management system has taken the University a step closer toward creating an educational environment where students actively learn and discuss.
Since January 2019, SKKU has been working with XINICS to establish an LMS suitable for high-tech educational environments such as online lectures and flip learning. Additionally, it has officially opened the system to support data sharing and communication systems between professors and students using a smart platform since the first semester of this year.
With the establishment of this system, SKKU has made a big leap forward in the field of LMS by providing various devices and OS optimization, planning flow of self-directed learning such as video, quiz, and discussion, operating efficient evaluation through analysis of quiz and function of convenient grading, supporting various interactive learning such as team activities, peer reviews, and the use of rubrics, and providing real-time survey/vote/quiz application optimized for class discussions.
In addition, it is expected that the lecture storage and contents management system will provide fast and stable services through multi-channel high-definition screen recording, the ability to automatically create a table of contents, writing tools for contents, the establishment of integrated contents management and distribution system such as lecture videos, class materials, and lecture recording videos, and the expansion of servers and storage.
