SKKU Ranks 2nd in the Top 1% Most Cited Articles Among Korean Universities

- The National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) released its analysis of the Impact Factor (IF) of the Korean Citation Index (KCI) for 2008-2018
- The Korean universities with the top 1% of the most cited articles: 1st-Seoul National University, 2nd-SKKU, 3rd-Korea University

SKKU announced that it ranked second among the Korean universities in the top 1% of the most cited articles according to the analysis of the Impact Factor (IF) of the Korean Citation Index (KCI) for 2008-2018 released by the NRF.

The NRF reviewed approximately 150,000 of the top 1% most cited articles among SCI-grade journals that were published in the past 11 years. The results showed that Korea ranked fifteenth out of the top 1% of the most cited articles worldwide.

SKKU presented its excellence in research by holding 557 of the top 1% of the most cited articles in total and being ranked second. SKKU holds 103 of the top 0.1% and 24 of the top 0.01% of the most cited articles.

An SKKU administrator said, "Our university has heavily invested in and supported convergence research to create future value. In order to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution, we will train excellent research personnel and create world-class research results."
