The Royal Society, a key partner of IBS, has opened applications for several international grant schemes. These programs support Korea-UK research collaborations and fellowships across various career stages.

Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship and Wolfson Visiting Fellowship
These schemes offer emerging or established international research leaders overseas with the opportunity to be based at a UK university or research institution for a five-year fellowship or a 12-month sabbatical period, respectively.
The Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship offers a fellowship award to recruit international researchers to UK institutions, and the Royal Society Wolfson Visiting Fellowship provides a flexible sabbatical period in the UK to foster international collaborative links. Royal Society International Exchanges: Global Rounds 1 & 2
International Exchanges provide support for scientists based in the UK and Overseas to stimulate new research collaborations, covering travel both ways (for both teams) between the respective countries over six months to two years. Apply between 15 January and 18 March 2026 (Round 1) and between 09 April and 04 June 2026 (Round 2). Find out more.
Royal Society Newton International Fellowship
The two-year Newton International Fellowship is for non-UK scientists who are at an early stage of their research career and who wish to come and conduct research and gain experience in the UK. Apply between 15 January and 11 March 2026. Find out more.
