해외저명대학 교수 초청 글로벌 수업은 본교 교원과 해외저명대학 교원이 함께 만드는 수준 높은 수업을 학생들에게 제공하여 본교 교육 수준 제고 및 글로벌 학습 플랫폼을 구축하고, 이를 통해 해외저명대학 교원 간의 공동연구를 추진하는 등 글로벌 연구 플랫폼 구축의 토대 마련을 위하여 진행하고 있다.

1. 강연자: Prof. Steve Mentz
 - Steve Mentz is Professor of English at St. John’s University in New York City.
 - His work explores the Blue Humanities, Early Modern Literature, Ecocriticism, Shakespeare, and the Literary Theory.

2. 특강 주제 및 내용: "Kinds of Blue: Phases, Structures, and Climate Change in the Blue Humanities"
 - This lecture defines the Blue Humanities as a mode of inquiry into the relationships between humans and water on all levels, from the global ocean to water vapor in the air to the water in our bodies.
 - An opening discussion of Physical Phases and Literary Structures will explore the meanings and connotations of different kinds of water, including fresh, salt, liquid, solid, and vapor in human cultures and histories.
 - The second half of the lecture will pick up a series of narrative structures that we use to make sense of water, including the tropes of submersion, buoyancy,  and literary forms.
 - Part of the lecture will draw upon sea-poems published in 2024 in my book Sailing without Ahab.
