900 Exchange Students Have Memorable
Experiences at SKKU Every Year

In 2017, 933 students from 40 countries visited SKKU to participate in our exchange program and experience Korean culture. SKKU international student reporters interviewed some of the international exchange students who successfully finished the 2017 fall semester at SKKU.

David Pablo, Film Major (BA), Germany

How do you feel staying at SKKU and Korea so far? What is interesting for you at SKKU or Korea?
My mom told me not to waste any day, and my motto for my life is "Live life alive". I've only stayed for 4 months here, but I have gotten to know so many people. I have been to several other cities such as Daejeon, Suwon, and Busan. I'm spending my free time doing activities with the clubs which we don't have in Germany and with my other friends too.

What is your dream?
I'm a film major and in order to succeed in the film industry you have to be known, so I'm trying to build up my image through YouTube. In the future, I want to start my career and be a public figure in the Philippines first, before expanding into Korea, Germany, the US, and the rest of the world.

David constantly makes vlogs of his activities in South Korea. To see more of David's daily life in Korea, check out his YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/davlorito ! [by Bunga Pujangga]

Amoruso Fabrizio Maria , Architecture Major (MA) , Italy

What motivates you to study at SKKU, Korea?
The reason I chose to participate in an exchange program to Korea is because Korea itself has a lot of interesting architecture. Just like the ATS project, Korea has a lot of high rise buildings and also has changed integration technology a lot; for example, the smart city design in Songdo City. This kind of convergence allows architects and polymer makers to be more confident in the quality of architecture. In other words, Korea is pretty advanced in this field of architecture. In Germany, there is a different focus on the strong system ability concept, and Korea has made important technological advances in architecture. I think that these two different concepts could come together and develop a much more productive type of architecture with Korea's advanced technology and Germany's strong system. There is a lot to offer here in Korea. I could learn more things about Korea and provide more knowledge about architecture and there is a lot to be explored here.

And at SKKU, I feel really protected with the student rights. Although there are hundreds of foreign students here, SKKU still takes good care of every single student. None of them are being ignored. Also, the students are proud of being SKKU students, as you can tell from the varsity jackets worn by the students.[by Anwar Othman]

The interview series will be continued in the next edition.
