Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) hosted a celebration for the Chinese ambassador to South Korea and the CEO of ASIA TODAY, a daily newspaper in Korea on October 25, 2019.
Jun Young KIM, the director of SKKU, and Dong Ryeol SHIN, the president of the university, as well as Chinese international students and graduate students from the Graduate School of China attended the ceremony.
"We hereby award this plaque for contributing to the friendly cooperation between the People's Republic of China and Republic of Korea by expanding broad exchanges", Jun Young KIM and Dong Ryeol SHIN said before they awarded the plaque to Qiu Guohong, the Chinese Ambassador to South Korea.
Jong-Soon Woo, the CEO of ASIA TODAY, also awarded the plaque. "We hereby award this plaque for raising the reputation of SKKU by leading mobile innovation in the rapidly changing media environment, and not only making ASIA TODAY a prominent newspaper in Korea, but also in the entirety of Asia", said Jun young KIM and Dong Ryeol SHIN.
After the celebration, the participants of the ceremony shared their visions and experiences at SKKU by touring Myeongnyundang Lecture Hall and Munmyo Shrine, the cultural assets of Sungkyunkwan from the Joseon Dynasty.
