According to the 2012 National Consumer Satisfaction Index (NCSI), Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) has again been ranked 1st. It is the 6th year in a raw that SKKU has taken first place. The NCSI is jointly carried out by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the Korea Productivity Center and the University of Michigan (USA).
The NCSI score shows that SKKU's manage-ment, student administration system, curri-culum, library and teaching quality met or exceeded students' expectations during the past 6 years. Therefore SKKU is able to provide an outstanding and optimal learning environment to its students.
The NCSI is an internationally recognized measure of service quality which is also used in Europe and the United States, where the American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) and the European Consumer Satisfaction Index (ECSI) provide consumers with valuable information. There are among the world's most widely utilized consumer satisfaction indicators.
SKKU's strong performance in the NCSI is a result of its deployment of innovative management techniques, such as the 6 Sigma quality improvement system and active internationalization program. This has helped SKKU deliver education of a global standard. SKKU's success is also demonstrated by its high graduate employment rate and the large number of SKKU students who do internships abroad.
