Prof. Younghan KIM and 9 students from SKKU Dept. of Global Economics took part in the "Singapore Global Career Tour" from January 22nd to 24th. Students got the chance to visit 2 universities and 8 global corporations, including "BlackRock", one of world's biggest investment firms.
The Global Career Tour is a program for students to acquire knowhow from many experts in the field by visiting global business centers. Students have the opportunity to meet SKKU alumni and develop personal connections.
During this year's tour, students had a meeting with a world-renowned investor, Jim Rogers, to hear his opinion about factors of investment on the Korean peninsula. Mr. Rogers advised, "To understand Korea with a sense of objectivity, one must have international experience. I recommend students to work abroad for about 2~3 years to gain a global perspective and go back to Korea to work."
The participants of this tour said, "We learned about different perspectives in seeing the world and have learned a lot from the discussion with Mr. Rogers."
