KU Leuven Rector Luc Sels and his group visited Korea and signed an MOU with SKKU on March 27th. They visited our campus on the 28th to discuss future cooperation with the professors at SKKU.
The two universities signed a faculty-level student exchange agreement in 2018. The School of Business and College of Information and Communication Engineering have been promoting academic cooperation and student exchange since last year. The College of Information and Communication Engineering also signed an agreement with IMEC (Interuniversitair Micro-Elektronica Centrum vzw), which is a partner institution of KU Leuven. They are seeking a way to expand their collaboration to include three-party joint research between SKKU, KU Leuven, and IMEC in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
SKKU and KU Leuven have long histories and traditions, and they are technologically advanced universities. Based on these similarities, the two universities will look for various ways to cooperate in areas such as Humanities, East Asian Studies, IT, and Data Science.
KU Leuven was established in 1425. KU Leuven is the No.1 university in Belgium (2019 Rankings: 48th in THE and 81st in QS) and has strengths in dentistry, engineering, and theology.
