The President and Professors at Sophia University in Bulgaria Visit SKKU

Dr. Anastas Gerdjikov, the president of Sofia University in Bulgaria, and professors from its Dept. of Korean Literature visited SKKU on August 17th and had a meeting with President Kyu Sang CHUNG and SKKU faculty members (VP of Academic Affairs, Dean of Academy of East Asian Studies, etc.) about exchange cooperation.

Both universities have continued to work on academic and student exchange since 2013. This visit was organized to strengthen their relationship due to the Bulgarian government's policy of emphasizing strong educational connections with East Asian countries.

At the meeting, the two universities discussed possible new initiatives such as scholar exchange in the fields of Korean Studies, East Asian Studies, Basic Chemistry, and ICT, post-doc student exchange, seed projects for the Academy of Korean Studies and overseas Korean Studies, and faculty/student exchange through the Erasmus Programme and Horizon 2020.
