From October 27th to 28th, the Academy of East Asian Studies held a forum with the theme "Chinese Reform, Opening, and the World". This event was co-hosted by the China Reform and Development Research Center (Hainan) and the Bank of China.
Many international organizations such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), Friends of Europe and global think tank participated in the forum to commemorate the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening. Five-hundred experts in twelve countries discussed theories of economic reform in each country and shared their experiences about the topics "40 Years of Reform and Opening: The Impact of China's Changes on the World", "Transformation of the Economic Structure and the Chinese Economy", "New Trends and Challenges of Globalization of Economy" and "Belt and Road and Economic Globalization/Regional Unification".
The China Reform and Development Research Center is the most important state-level think tank in the field of reform and development in China. In April 2017, the Sungkyun China Research Institute signed an agreement on academic cooperation with this center and holds the "21st Century Ocean Silk Road Cooperation Conference" every year.
