Sungkyunkwan University hosted 8th ‘China Sungkyun Writing contest“ in Beijing, on June 14. The contest was sponsored by Samsung Electronics, LG Household & Health Care and Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics.

87 students were selected from preliminary rounds in their universities which more than 2,000 students have applied at the first place. These selected students were from all over China, Shandong, Jilin, Tianjin and other regions. The topic of the contest was and all the participants showed their abilities in writing Korean essays for 2 hours.

The first prize went to Ms. Le from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She divided the into 2 different categories, a small world which belongs to the mind of people and the big world which belongs to the society. She wishes to study in Korea and wishes to be an interpreter in the future.
The second and third prized went to Ms. Wang from Fudan University and Mr. yu from Beijing University.
These 3 students gets full scholarship to SKKU when they are admitted to the graduate school of our university. Also the students received Galaxy note 10.1 from Samsung electronics.
Also, all the participants received a gift set from LG Household & Health Care.

Prof. Park, Jung Ha, chairperson of the reviewing committee stated that every year the students’ ability of writing in Korean language is astonishingly improving. The contest it self became the gateway to become Korean expert. Especially this year, students’ essays presented vigorous spirits as being a university student in their youth.
