To realize Sungkyunkwan University's founding philosophy of self-cultivation through respect for the dignity and governance of people with the purpose of bringing peace to humankind, ((修己治人(su-gyi-chi-in)), the University has an online social service website called UR1004 university-supervised social service programs to provide students with opportunities to have various meaningful experiences. These are part of the "Character Quality" requirement among SKKU's Three-Quality System (Sam Poom Jae (Character Quality, Global Quality, constitutes the ‘Character Quality’Information Quality)). UR1004 is operated by the SKKU Social Service Team and offers information on social service activities and connects those who wish to gain social service experience and join various organizations online to improve society.

- Establishment and coordination of new strategies for social services
- Provision of counseling on issues regarding social service activities
Samsung Seoul Hospital Associated Volunteer Work
There are volunteer programs at Samsung Seoul Hospital organized through an agreement between SKKU's Social Service Team and Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam. The volunteer team is organized and operated by students selected through a recruitment process.

Education Office Associated Mentoring Volunteer Work
This volunteer program, supported by Korea’s Ministry of Education, connects university student mentors to youths from low-income families for individualized learning and character development, aimed at reducing the gap in educational privileges between different social groups. SKKU selects and sends volunteer student mentors based on its agreement with Gangnam District Office of Education and Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education.

Countryside Volunteering
SKKU and Chungju City concluded the ‘Farm Love’ agreement in April 2006 and began offering countryside volunteer programs for different seasons (spring, summer, fall). Through this volunteer program, friends and colleagues will get to visit the countryside and farming communities of the nation and have the opportunity to experience the meaning of precious sweat and effort and the reality of farm villages they may have forgotten in their busy school lives. Also, with the support of the Ministry of Education, the program connects university student mentors to youths from low-income families for individualized learning and character development, aiming at reducing the gap in educational privileges between different social groups. Summer countryside volunteering is scheduled for five night and six days and the volunteers will be acknowledged for their 40 hours of service in the Character Quality (In Sung Poom) requirement.
