Samsung chose five research programs operated by SKKU professors as part of its Future Technology Development Project for the second half of 2014.

The Samsung Future Technology Development Project is a program that supports three areas of business: Basic Sciences, Materials Technology and ICT. In August this year, 121 research programs were selected for the Samsung Future Technology Development Project, and a total of KRW 150 billion will be given to these programs in the course of ten years. Five of the selected programs are part of SKKU.

The five selected areas are:

△Semiconductor Systems Engineering (Director Prof. Jeon Jae-wook)

△Life Sciences (Director Prof. Bae Eh-sik)

△New Materials Engineering (Director Prof. Hwang Dong-mook)

△Electrical/Electronics Engineering (Director Prof. Song Jang-geun)

△Chemical Engineering (Director Prof. Lee Gi-ra).

With research by Prof. Kim Ji-man, selected earlier this year, SKKU possesses a total of six programs that are involved in the Samsung Future Technology Development Project.

Samsung intends to recruit more research programs in the first half of 2015 among submissions collected by 17:00 on 19 December 2014.
