Sungkyunkwan University(SKKU) Institute for Convergence (Department of Human ICT Convergence) and SKKU School of Art have signed an industry and university collaboration MOU with Samsung Art and Design Institute(SADI) on developing a Design-Engineering-Humanities fusion education program. Through this agreement both sides will engage in the exchanging of curriculums and faculty. For the design related fusion education, SKKU runs ‘ fusion Capstone design program' and the SADI operates the ’Global Workshop’.
Chair for the Department of Human ICT Convergence, Prof. Cho, Jun-dong, stated that “The necessity for a industry and university education collaboration has prompted this fusion of industry design on the job work with university’s creative multi-discipline convergence education”.
And for its first event SADI will host a ”Global Workshop“on ‘Experiencing Internet of Things (IoT)’ with faculty from the famous design institute Parson’s and SKKU students in August. Also students of SADI will join the SKKU’s Capstone multi-discipline convergence project, and together will create a next generation human friendly, emotion sensitive fusion product.
On this Prof. Lee, Young-kwan, Head of SKKU Institute for Convergence remarked that “We will do our utmost to enhance mutual exchange in cooperation through this program”.
