SKKU’s Graduate School of China successfully finished its ‘2016 Graduate School of China 一帶一路 Long March event held from Oct 20th to Oct 26th.

This event is a 4-year long-term project which was designed to provide opportunities for students to experience the New Silk Road, in order to cultivate broad minds and to have an introspective time by walking the road in China, while learning about Chinese culture, history, and life. Since this year was first of the new project, students walked 650km from 西安 to 天水 out of the planned distance of 2,600km.

Students who participated in the event said “It was pretty tough schedule of 50km walk even in the rainy weather and 800km travel by bus. However, through the program every participant could develop a 'challenge and cooperative spirit'.”

一帶一路 Long March participants went through several fun experiences such as; local lifestyle tryout at a farm, visiting Samsung Electronic Semiconductor Factory, and Start-up Support Center.

Students and professors hoped to join the 2017 march (630km, 蘭州~張掖) again and promised to meet at the homecoming event in 10 years time.
