The SKKU team composed of students from the College of Software (Jin Yong KIM, Dae Young HYUN, Eun Soo KIM, Dong Jin HONG, Tae Gyun ROH, Sa Rang WE, Seung Jin LEE) received an award at the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) Hackathon. The team was led by Prof. Jae Hoon JEONG and Prof. Sang Won HYUN, who also gave a presentation at the Hackathon.

IETF is an international organization which develops and promotes voluntary Internet standards, in particular the standards that comprise the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP). IETF holds a regular meeting every year, and this year was the 100th IETF Hackathon. The SKKU team participated in the event with the I2NSF Framework Project and received the Best Students Project Award.

From this recognition, the SKKU team had a chance to demonstrate their program to the organization before the plenary session and was able to let global leading ICT companies (ex. Google, Apple, Cisco, Ericsson, Huawei) know about SKKU’s activities and excellence.

Also, the team had a discussion with engineers and researchers in the network field by presenting their Hackathon content and contribution report at the I2NSF Working Group Session.

SKKU has won awards three times at IETF as follows:

- IETF-100 Hackathon (Singapore): Best Students Project Award

- IETF-99 Hackathon (Prague, Czech Republic): Best University Work Award

- IETF-97 Hackathon (Seoul, Korea): Best Group Work Award
